Deep in the basement of the Union School is the Groundskeepers office. The groundskeeper not only performs maintenance and janitorial services to the school building but also maintains the detention chambers and is responsible for School Security.
Groundskeepers are federal employees of the Federal School board but are licensed by the Justice Department as armed peace officers. The Headquarter of the Union School Groundskeepers is on Planet Vanguard in the Pluribus System.
Training is rigorous and the selection process quite complicated. The career is popular and many apply, the Job has good benefits and pays well.
Training includes: Hygiene, Janitorial, First Aid, Security, Xeno Biology, Pest Control, Security training, Hand to hand combat with focus on non-lethal restraining techniques.
