Shaman

The Shaman in Bopho’s tribe never had a name, but was always identified by his function. Bopho theNeanderthal later lectures that almost every tribe had an elder or a Shaman, a person who could interpret the signs of nature and calm the spirits. According to Bopho, pre religious believes were a substantial element of their culture. While they had not developed uniform rituals they did have common forms. The shaman was usually a person that consumed herbs, mushrooms or early alcoholic fruit mashes to induced delirious states.

The Shaman of Bopho’s tribe was not very happy with the changes and inventions Bopho and the Naked Tribe introduced and he feared for his unique status in the tribe.
