Shells

In Psycho Surgery , a combination of actual nano surgery (rerouting path ways and cauterizing certain brain regions) psycho drugs and psycho theraphy removes or alters the so called Ego Center of a person along with memories and accummulated knowledge and replaces it with a new Personality shell and frame work. Normally the Psycho Surgeon must adhere to certain guidelines but in some cases either by botched surgery or on purpose, do not replace it with a new ego center. The brain attempts on its own to reroute pathways but without a starting point it becomes a persnality shell, a fragile bland vegetative state where a person latches on to whatever new inputs are given and onto remnants of old memory.
While almost unheard among Union Citizens, even those who get sentenced to Psycho Surgery. Shells are encountered among Non Cits and Drifters that received Surgery after a crime or Califerm addiction. Court appointed Psycho Surgeons often put little care in their work when it comes to those fringe groups
and put very little or no effort in a new personality and thus create shells.
The practice only really came to light after the famous article "the Non Cits of Blue Moon " by Alex Cunningham.
