Shimmer Shields

A non technical term describing Same Quantum State Electron Walls (similar basics are used for Hard Light projections). The term Shimmer Shields comes from an old Saresii Term that describes these types of shields and the term has stuck and is used in translated versions by many known space faring societies.

Most space faring societies base their force field and protective shield tech on the SQSE Walls.

Over small distances--atomic distances-- all matter neutral charge is arranged in positively charged nuclei surrounded by negatively charged electron clouds. So at the very surface, matter is slightly negatively charged.

Matter is composed of atoms, and electrons of the same quantum state are not allowed to occupy the same space due to the Pauli exclusion principle

Basic Shimmer Shields are immobile sheets of electrons, in approximately the same quantum states as the electrons of matter. Nothing solid can pass through because the electrons in matter would be both electrically repelled by the charge, and forbidden to occupy the same space due to Pauli.

The electrons on the surface of Shimmer Shields generate a short-distance electric field that repels (at atomic distances) other matter.

With sufficient strength these shields can withstand kinetic energy and are highly resistant to heat.

The most advanced Shimmer Shields known are of Wurgus design using single neutron walls, at atomic distance reduced state and in standard Quantum state, making Wurgus shields the strongest Shimmer shielding known.
