A moving walkway (British English) or moving sidewalk (American English) (colloquially sometimes horizontalator, travelator, horizontal escalator, walkalator, autowalk, movator, people mover) is a slow moving conveyor mechanism that transports people, across a horizontal or inclined plane, over a short to medium distance.[1] Moving walkways can be used by standing or walking on them. They are often installed in pairs, one for each direction.

Slide Belts come in many variations and are virtually everywhere on modern well developed worlds of the Union. the most basic ones are nothing more than one directional conveyors. to the most sophisticated slide belts, where the passenger stnads on a track guided platform that can change directions and take the passenger to a specific destination An endless row of these platforms make up a slidebelt.

Almost all slide belts have accident pevention systems such as visible and invisible security fields.
