The Spinward Sector of the Milky Way Galaxy slowly gains importance to the Union. The building of the Bridge, the Large Magellanic Cloud and the push into the Coreward Sector are the main reasons Union space is only growing slowly into the Spinward Sector.
This and the fact that the Spinward Sector was the main approach region of the Y'All and many Union Colonies and the settled worlds of other civilizations were lost here.
The Spinward Sector has the most destroyed and devastated former Garden Worlds and is, due to the Y'All the most lifeless region of known space.
